Portadown
links
The town of Portadown, on the banks of the River Bann and close to the southern
shores of Lough Neagh, dates from the early 17th century. It is a major shopping town, and part of the Borough of Craigavon, the third city in Northern Ireland. The traditional industry in the area was linen manufacture; the area is also known for apple growing, as part of the "Orchard County" of Armagh.

The Craigavon Borough Council website is a source for information about the area, including leisure and tourism activities as well as business development.

Portadown Festival is one of the largest community arts festivals in the UK. Organised by local volunteers, it offers a wide range of events.
